Eduard Pernkopf, a German anatomist and medical illustrator.

Eduard Pernkopf was born in Vienna, Austria in 1888. He studied medicine at the University of Vienna and went on to become a renowned anatomist and medical illustrator. Pernkopf was known for his meticulous attention to detail and his ability to create highly accurate and detailed illustrations of the human body.

Pernkopf's most famous work is "Atlas of Human Anatomy," a multi-volume set of illustrations that was first published in the 1940s and has since become a standard reference for medical students and professionals around the world. The atlas features thousands of detailed illustrations of the human body, including many that were drawn by Pernkopf himself.

In addition to his work as a medical illustrator, Pernkopf was also a respected anatomist and professor at the University of Vienna. He was known for his expertise in the field of human anatomy and was widely recognized for his contributions to the field.

Eduard Pernkopf passed away in 1956 at the age of 68, but his legacy lives on as one of the most influential medical illustrators of the 20th century. His atlas continues to be widely used and respected as a reference for medical students and professionals around the world.
