MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY, OPENING UP BY: MIKE ATHERTON
Mike Atherton is considered by many to be the most articulate and perceptive captain of English cricket since Mike Brearley. He was also one of the most determined batsmen of the 1990s, and as an opener, a vital component of the England team.

"A book that blows hot and cold for me - this is Michael Atherton's career in his own words. Some very engrossing chapters are, thankfully, more frequent than their opposite, but there are few chapters where I had to concentrate extra hard just to make sure I kept reading. Very whingey at time, but this is by no means a bad thing - indeed, is a very honest reflection of how he felt at those times. All in all a good read, recommended if you want to see things from Atherton's perspective in his time as a player and captain. "
